Day trip to Nemea

Wine tasting day trip

On Sunday the 18th of May we had the great opportunity of visiting some of the finest wineries in Greece courtesy of the “Open Doors” initiative, a two day festival where wine enthusiasts could visit and tour some of the finest wineries in the country.

Ultimately, we only got to visit two, Lafazanis’ Winery and the Gofas’ Estate. At Lafazanis’ we had the pleasure of meeting with the owners of the establishment who eventually took us for a tour at the vineyards in addition to the standard tour of the winery, where we got to see the amazing landscapes and learn a bunch of stuff about the proccess of rowing grapes.

The winery tour was also a great experience. Here are some photos of the areas for the general public and the entrance to the cellar. The production takes place in a different building at the back side.

At the Gofas’ winery we didn’t get a chance to visit the facilities. We took a walk down to Asopos river and took some nice pictures.
